hi i have and 86 ford ranger that has a v6 2.9. i was wondering what do i all need to do to swap it to a 302 and i can do it under 400 buck.

i need to know how hard it would be to swap my v6 2.9 in my 86 ford ranger to a v8 302. and i need to know what all  
part i need and i can do this under 400 bucks

wow hell of a swap first thing you need to do is find out if it will legaly smog with that engine in it i know a few states you cant do that any more you want it in a 86 ranger not sure you can do for under 400 you might need to change the transmission also i am not sure only reason i say that but normally to do a swap out you just need make sure the motor mounts are in the right place and if not move them to right place and change over the ecu and all the computer components that are for the 302 because they are different for the 2,9 change over the electronics and make sure the bell housing lines up with engine right is all i have ever had to do with my swaps
