I have a 1979 Ford F-150 Custom with dual exhaust that I am in the process of buying. When I had it inspected, I was told that in order for it to pass, I would need to have two cats put on. Is this true?

Hello This depends entirely on the state in which you have the truck registered. States such as Georgia have clauses which set lower emissions standards for older vehicles. Check with your local DMV or inspection station for details on this. Best of luck CarGrrl

Only if it came from the factory with them and in 1979 there were none.
