I'm thinking 2 options for my monte ss 1 427 bbc and 2 377 sbc but i'm wondering if anyone is running a bbc in this year with the heater and a/c box still in place?

whats up guy, if you end up running the big block set up make sure you up grade the front suspension because of the weight issue.

I agree ,but do we know of anyone running a bbc in this year monte with access. still in place.

Personally, I would stick with the small block. I do not know if the big block will fit with the factory A/C box, but there is no doubt that the sbc will. If you add the extra nose weight of the bbc, your Monte will handle even more like a barge. A well-built small block 377 or 383 will put out big-block power with absolutely no added weight or fitment issues. In fact, if you use aluminum cylinder heads on your motor, you might even lose some weight from the nose. Were you planning on using a crate engine, or do you want to build it yourself?

I removed my a/c box due to clearance issues with my 454. There is a company that makes a replacement box that goes completely under the dash. Don't remember the name off hand but they do exist.
