Suggest you check the oil level in the automatic trans. Follow instructions in the Owners Manual for correct procedure. Smell the fluid on the Dipstick. Does it smell burned?

Karnsoo....did you ever resolve the issue with this vehicle?

Delay problems are related to transmission problems. ATF level should be proper. If it doesn't fix by changing the atf and replacing the strainer (filter). you need to find new transmission or have it rebuilt.

This is called Delayed Engagement. It is usually caused by transmission fluid not properly maintained, or it happens in older high mileage cars. Check the fluid to see if it's low or dirty. If so, correcting this might improve the problem, but the transmission likely already has problems with wear and leaks.
