What is wrong with my car

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We had a heavy rainstorm come in and
unfortunately my car became victim to a big water
puddle once we hit the puddle and the water went
over the front of the hood the car immediately shut
down and wouldn't turn back on so I let it sit for 3
hours and then it finally turned on of course the air
filter was so so I bought a new air filter
unfortunately every now and then the check engine
light comes on along with the traction control light
not sure what I should do

Water in the electronics. You need to dry it out. Check all the electrical connections for moisture.
