I have a 1992 Chevy k1500 and when I tried to start it sparks came out of the carburator not flames but a big spark anyone know the reason the truck will not run

So I redid the timing point on fly wheel I am still having no luck with it starting I didn't do a compression test since I don't have a tool for that but it sounded like it was going to start then didn't any ideas or should I just try to get a compression tester

I am not 100 %sure if it's at top dead Center but I I looked at a you tube video and did what the man did on there did you know where the points are supposed to be lined up at for top dead Center
