Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2002 fuel gauge went from 1/2 a tank yesterday afternoon to empty when I drove another 30 miles. Has this happened to anyone else? Seems the bottom fell out in the last hour I was driving

Its probably the fuel sending unit located in the fuel tank. I had to have mine replaced last year. I had only 75k miles on it. Mine was doing the same thing. If it continues, it will eventually lead to not starting at all. if this happens. You can try to hit your tank to get it started.
