get a NEW battery as yours is going to be older than five...NAPA and Interstate will "pro-rate" your old one for some scrap value~ wirebrush black cable connection to chassis ground...and cable clamps remove corrosion...protect your eyes...use gloves....keep it safe~

the basics, air, fuel, spark, timing and finally valve timing all need inspection to proceed~ ....fuel, have you got a mechanical pump on this one? is the diaphragm okay...still puttin out with the juice, bruce?~

Thanks for the info. Will check ground connections. hadn't thought of that. At first thought was timing, still not sure if I got that right.got an older mechanical pump. will check that out too. thanks again. gives me places to check.

sounds like timeing chain to me. If you have fuel and spark and will not start. Your timeing is off. Replace chain and the gears not just the chain
