2007 explorer humming noise from wheel---bearings replaced and new tires

Asked by Jun 14, 2018 at 11:09 PM about the 2007 Ford Explorer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had bearings replaced and new tires. Have a
noise/sounds like excess road noise at 62 mph but
ok at lower speeds. Any ideas?

Did you purchase a different brand tire than was previously on the vehicle? If they are all terrain tires they can be a little noisy. My F 150 quieted down quite a bit when the original all terrain tires were replaced with highway tires.

Same tires put on. It is now thought the rear bearings are the culprit. In the shop to evaluate right now.

Thought all the bearings were replaced. Must have changed only the front's since I believe the rear's have to be pressed on and off.
