Why is my truck stalling out

Left canandaigua ny got to byrine diary in
Phelps ny and came to stop and the truck
stalled out. Start it back up starts fine put it
in drive and it stalls out again.. but leave it
off for a while to cool down and start and it
goes perfectly fine no probs.
