Dear David Nakata-- I thought I could remember this answer without looking it up. I couldn't but what I could do is find a copy of a 1969 Mustang brochure. Tires were "Fiberglass Belted F70-14 with extra narrow whitewalls." Also available were widetread radial FR70-14's with the same whitewall. The radial was a first for the Mustang. You can find the brochure at http://www.1969stang.com/1969_brochure.pdf. I hope this helped. Good luck from Bovan.

David, Ford Motor Company used Firestone tires exclusively for over 100 years in part because William Ford was married to a Firestone daughter. Which tire was originally on your Mustang depends on engine specs and trim. For more information than you can stand call Pat at Mid-Country Classic Mustang, toll free at 800.358.8081. Pat is a guy you need to know if you are restoring your Mustang. He'll tell you everything you need to know (and more) and then refer you to http://www.cokertire.com/ to buy the actual tires if that's the way you decide to go. Word of caution: These original tires don't drive well so buy a modern tire is you are doing more than showing the car or limited weekend drives. Good luck!
