Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I tried to replace the turn signal bulb yesterday but ran into the problem that the bulb will not lock into the socket. Please tell me there is an easy fix or will i have to replace the whole turn signal assembly?

The base in the socket has a spring behind it. Does the base move? It has to move to insert the bulb and spring back to hold the bulb tight. There are two small nubs at the base of the bulb. The are offset, make sure you try inserting the bulb and if it doesn't set, try turning it 180 degrees.

yes. it's an 1157A. I'm just going to have to replace the socket unfortunately, but at least i'm not having to buy a whole new assembly.

Well,,,, replacing the socket didn't work either, so I'll see if the bulbs are defective today. A simple 5 min. task turns into a nightmare.

OK.... I don't know what the difference is in an 1157A bulb and an 1157NA bulb, but the NA bulb fit.
