Can't find the engine number on the right front pad. It is blank!

Asked by Kurt Sep 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM about the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle

Is there another location other than the right front pad for the engine number?
I have read that the last 6 numbers should match the last 6 of the VIN. I have
a 1969 Chevelle 396/375 w/aluminum heads.
