5.3liter compared to 5.4 liter

Question type: General

i have a 68 327 250 horse. when looking for parts it may ask if its 5.3 liter or 5.4 liter.
besides .1 liter what is and how do you differentiate between the two ? thanks

i have seen it sometimes where it will actually gives you a selective choice between a 5.3L (327) or 5.4L (327) as if their is a difference.

maybe its just a error in the system, they should be the same thing. Maybe with the newer 5.3 engine they wanted to make a clearer difference between the 2. Even tho they are seperate engines but thats my guess

i was "told" the difference between the 5.3 and 5.4 was..the 5.3 was a 2 bolt main..the 5.4 was a 4 bolt main..not a clue if thats true or not

@GuruH5VYH They never made a 4 bolt main 327. Maybe its the small and large journal that makes the difference. I know the new LS 327s are 5.3. And my old small journal is a 5.4L
