transmission problems

if i put my car in reverse and it makes a bad noise yet goes in reverse, what could that be

There are a couple of possibilities here in terms of courses of action. The first thing to do is to check the fluid level in your tranny. If it's low you should fill to the proper level and see if that solves the problem. If it does, get the tranny flushed and fix the source of the leak. It the fluid level is proper or filling it doesn't ease the symptoms than you need to seek professional help. It's important you do this quickly as well because these problems simply don't self-heal, they usually progress in severity and repair expense. Good luck!

I have the same problem when puttung my car into gears a makes a loud ugly noise.is that mean the trannie is messing up??
