I used the info from an online video to replace my resistor on the heater blower moter. I still only have the high speed working after replacing the resistor. Can anyone offer help on this?

I own a 1998 Subaru Forester, and the heater fan only works on high speed. After replacing the resistor with a brand new part, I still only have the high speed working. Can someone help me with troubleshooting tips? Is there a way to know if the sliding switch for the fan is the problem? Thanks in advance for any help on this.

You may have put resistor in backward,s,,if that doe,s not fix it,it will be the slider switch as you said.

I am pretty sure the resistor is in correctly, but I will try again tomorrow to be sure on that. If it is the slider switch, what troubleshooting steps can I try? Can I use a spray cleaner on it?

You will more than likely have to replace it,the contact,s in it are burn,t,cleaner want do much for it.

Thanks for your help. Can you tell me how to replace the switch? How do I get access the switch and check if it is the problem? Do you know if there is a YouTube video that would help with that?

You will have to replace the hole module,there may be video,s on youtube to give you and idea of it.
