Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Porsche boxster battery light came on after driving all day, at the same time power steering stopped working, can someone tell me what is the problem, is it the voltage regulator?

Sounds like a broken serpentine belt as Tom said above. You might have run low on power steering fluid and seized the pump, causing the belt to break. Or it just could have broken on it's own, after all it probably was the original 13 year old belt, age takes it toll on rubber components. Hopefully a cheap easy fix.
