Car losing power

Car losing power even on first gear and when you get to a stop or a light it switches off when you hit the brakes.  Fuel consumption just got very high and the engine has recently been overhauled. Audi a4 b6 2002 2.0l alt

fuel pressure regulator if equipped with could be blown out feeding its vacuum line lots of extra fuel and starving the injectors for pressure they need
