Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi i have a 1997 audi a4 quattro 2.8. I
recently put in both pre cat o2 sensors and
now my vehicle loses acceleration power
when driving normal and after moving from
slowing down. I have to shut the vehiclw off
and turn it back on in order for there to be
acceleration. I have checked all hoses for
leaks and cleaned out the Crankcase
Breather pipe hoses cause there was whitish
yelliw goo in them. I am lost for answers
here. It accelerates fine before puting in new
o2 sensors.

I'll bet a compression or leak down test will point to blown head gasket .

How so? The car ran great yesterday, just lower idle. Then the replacement parts for the pre cat o2 sensors came yesterday and i installed them and i drove it today. Now it surges and stalls. It doesnt overheat. Which would be a sign. Theres little smoke from the end which smells like its running rich. I did nothing and it doesnt show symptoms of a blown head. If anything it isnt getting the right ammount of air flow in. Its pushing more gas which is stalling it but i have no clue why it would.
