when engine warms up rpm runs hi and low turn lights on car quits

Check the alternator first. If the car stalls when the lights are turned on with a warm engine, that is likely due to loss of voltage at the computer. Check and see if the alternator stops charging when it gets hot. It is not uncommon for alternators to fail on these cars, and alternator failure can cause numerous driveability issues.
