Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My pontiac is misfiring, could it be a bad computer? My mechanic seems to think so, I just wanted to verify. At low speeds, like take off it misfires, and coil checks good. The computer indicated only misfiring, check engine light came on, said it was running rich. Light goes on and off.
