a bell dings for 5 minutes when started

when i start my van, a bell dings for what seems like 5-7 minutes and then
shuts off. all my doors are closed and I have no issues while driving.
The previous owner said it was a code for something. Any suggestions?

A scanner capable of monitoring live data can be bought for less than $20 on Amazon. A previous thread here mentioned an OBD linking program for a lap top with detailed diagnostic procedures. Maybe you can become more knowledgeable of the cars system than the dealership mechanics. I use one for all my cars. Are there any Check Engine or other warning lights on?
