A4 Audi dont start normaly

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car was driving well. Parked it and when i
started it a hour later is seem to start but no
luck. Refs seem to juggle arround 2000 rpm
for the second or vife but no luck. Replaced
air and feul filter. All fuses are good.
Runstart work and car drives normal then
switch it off and for the fewe seconds
afterwards start up normal. Anything longer
than 5 min and it dont start up. It crancks
when you turn the ignition and seem to be
smoking a bitt due to the fact that it dont
start. If i keep the starter turning long
enough it starts eventialy.
Pls help.

The high idle is an indication of vacuum leak, however, if it idled down then the reason has to be a part in the engine control system. Check: idle control, EGR (if equipped), and have ECM scanned for trouble codes (be careful: if you get a code indicating a bad Oxygen sensor this is just a result of too much gas resulting from high idle or vacuum leak).
