Is it just the VSC or is there also a check engine light? VSC stands for vehicle stability control which utilizes brakes, throttle input and other components to keep you from losing control of the vehicle if you start to fishtail. The system utilizes sensors which monitor yaw, steering angle, and speed to determine if the car is tracking normally or something is wrong. If it thinks you are skidding or losing traction it applies brake pressure to different wheels and controls throttle input in order to get the car back in a straight line. If the light is on it means there may be a problem with one or more of the mechanisms the system is monitoring. That being said, Ive heard that with some Lexus models the VSC light comes on for no real reason at all and then goes away after a time or will be on one day and off the next, but I'm not sure which models that issue effects and either way, you may want to get it checked out. If you don't want to take it to your Lexus dealership you can usually pull the code (especially if a check engine light is also on) at your local auto parts store. Napa no longer offers this service but Autozone still does and Im sure there are others who do as well. In about 1 minute they will be able to diagnose the problem based on a code that the computer spits out. Depending on the issue you will either want to take it in at that point or just not worry about it. If it is something that a mechanic needs to look at, make sure you don't reset the check engine light when you are finished pulling the code, otherwise, the mechanic may not know where to begin. Good luck
