I have a Nissan maxima 2000. In the mornings when I go tocrank the car it sputters and jerks really bad. I have to continuously revv the car up or it will die.

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? Does it run all right once it's warmed up and does it idle roughly?

Hi Lois, I also have a 2000 Nissan Maxima and my vehicle would do the same symptoms. My issue was that the air flow master hose was ripped due to making it jerk and stall.
