try this simple trick rather than getting a tester...red is positive black is ground... try tapping the positive wire on your battery then runs to a soldered light bulb and then connected to the ground wire and to the battery... quick and easy... if the bulb lights up then its working...

well if its still connected dont pull it out... tap the ground wire anywhere on the car or the negative slot of the battery and touch each terminal with the positive red wire... if the light turns on for all of the terminals then it is working fine... does this happen often? if your pump isnt working, idle should be inconsistent or your not pumping efficiently.. the car would run slower than usual and the engine will choke...

Star ok them when I run it for a cope minutes then star choking and my lighs in the dash star acting lake the have a short circuit the engine continiun shoking until the car cuts off then I try to star it again and dosent star I have to try servo times and pump it cope times to get it crank again
