1997 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0V* leaking water (steam) from somewhere?? Help

My engine on my 97 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0V* is leaking radiator fluid somewhere but I can not find out where! It runs fine but steam comes from the front of the engine area after driving. Ive had to top off the radiator once. Any ideas?

best bet is to get a coolant pressure test preformed & visually look for leak in suspected area,good luck.

mine did same thing. follow the top radiator hose to where thermastate is. the thermastate bolts to plastic bath tube lookin thing. mine had a small crack in that housing. I think it was about a 40 dolla part. Its hard to see because it leaks between the heads onto center of motor. Easy repair, but get some antifreeze, u'll loose some when u take parts off.

Thermostat housing assembly, I just replaced on my 2006 Mountaineer. As stated it will be almost impossible to see as the leak is on the engine block an evaporates.4 hr job for me.
