i have a 92 explorer 4wd my gas needle sets on 1/4 sometimes then goes past full then a half tank what is up with that?

changing the angle of how the vehicle sits might be part of it...mine moves alot too, just not as extreme...

Umm yes it could be that you are on a slant or your gauge has gone back i mean unless you have replaced it lately that is most likely the problem
