Check engine light

Asked by Nov 14, 2017 at 04:17 PM about the 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I hav had my 03 grand Marquis about 5 yrs
And every year when it gets cold my check engine
light comes on, dont make sense to me, I have
coolant in it, I don't run the heat I need a blower
motor.  But every winter without fail it comes on.
Summer time no problems, and I do regular
maintenance.

Have you ever had the trouble codes read to know what the light is warning of?

Sounds like the cold weather is making a bad connection at one of the sensors. Do as F O R said and get the trouble code. Your local auto parts store will scan the computer for free. That'll tell you what sensor it is. HTH. - Jim
