2003 Mercury Grand Marquis overheated and now
CHECK ENGIN LIGHT stays on?  What is that and
how can I fix it??

Since the light is on, there are trouble codes stored. Have an auto parts store scan if for you for free and tell us the 4 digit trouble code.
