You'll have to hook it up to an OBD and see what your engine codes are that's making your check engine light come on. It could be anything from nothing to something super serious.

The check engine light informs you that there is a malfunction in your engine or transmission control system. You need to get the problem properly diagnosed and repaired. If it's just the basic yellow light it could just be a loose gas cap. This also might be a problem with the EVAP system, like a faulty purge valve or a vacuum leak; especially if the CEL comes on, then goes out shortly after driving.. Go to a car parts store and have codes read, probably free, to find out which system is causing this. Or just see a mechanic to diagnose & fix.
