Was the filter a K&N filter? Oil filters sometimes are over oiled and that oil can adhere to the MAF elements causing drivability issues. Get a can of CNC MAF cleaner from the auto part store and clean the MAF. You might want to install the stock air filter back on, as a K&N filter will not give you any performance on today's model cars with a MAF sensor.

Since the CEL is on, you can scan for the fault codes too. It might be something else entirely. Like a vacuum leak. The auto part store will scan the car for free.
