2012 Kia’s got a recall on the engine. Mine turned off in the middle of driving! Kia replaces it and paid for towing and a rental

Mine turned out to be the starter even though it tested good. Whenever it gets cold outside it didn’t want to turn over until you pressed the start button 15-25 minutes.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier if your ignition switch fuse blows your car will stop starting at all but check the 30 amp fuse beside the starter relay to make sure it’s good then change the starter. I have a 2010 Kia Optima SX by the way. I had some change the fuse and think it was fixed but the next morning no start again so go ahead and change the starter. There’s something wrong with them they don’t like cold weather.

2018 KIA Soul Plus w/ 40,000 randomly won’t start you hear a clicking when you turn the key. All lights, stereo, wipers, ext work. I changed the battery. It was at Kia on 9/17 they couldn’t duplicate the problem.

2015 kia optimas have a recall on them. Tow it to a dealership or call them. Most models are covered. Mine had the same issues. Engine just died ...lights everything else worked. Turned out to be complete engine failure. Kia replaced the engine and starter for free. Sometimes they will pay for the tow and rental car cause it take about 7-10 days for fix so may want to ask about that also. Hope that helps

I'm just glad I found out about the recall Ed! I personally had let the car sit and bought a old Honda to drive until I could figure out a way to fix it not knowing about the recall. Just posted so hopefully someone else can avoid what I did.

2012 Kia Soul with 184,300 miles started to turn over but then stopped. Very hot day with a/c on, etc. Turned off all electrical, fans, A/C, radio but still starter would not engage. All lights and other electrical seem to work. Where is this 30 amp fuse next to the starter located? Or is there a fuse panel somewhere? I'm stranded one mile away from the dealer where I bought used 34,300 miles ago. Will push it there if necessary in 90 degree heat.
