1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee not cranking

Asked by Brook Mar 04, 2021 at 09:18 PM about the 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1993 Jeep grand cherokee that I recently had the
oil changed and I realized the oil filter wasn't changed out,
but after I drove it home and went to go drive it again.
When I started it, the battery was real weak turning over
but it started. Which was odd went to the store and like
someone stupid I shut it off. Went to start it and it was
the weak turning over and then nothing. Now I turn it over
and it just clicks. I changed the starter and it didn't work.
Im so confused on what's wrong.

Nothing to be confused about, if the battery was weak and the car wouldn't start, I would have replaced the battery, not the starter. Test the battery, my guess it is needs replacing. You should have a voltage of 12.4 or higher. Anything around 12V or lower , replace. Any auto parts store can test it for you for free.
