Why does my jeep shut off when accelerating?

Asked by Danielamarie07 Apr 20, 2015 at 04:01 PM about the 1995 Jeep Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 jeep cherokee sport 4.0.
My car has started stalling when I
come to a stop then accelerate.
Sometimes I can prevent it if I quickly
floor it. It also doesn't want to start, I
have to take the accelerator to floor
for it to start.  I hve to keep my foot
on both pedals now to keep it
running. I don't far to work at all but
it's still aggravating. I've replace the
upstream o2 sensors , IAC valve,
cleaned the MAP, cleaned the carb,
cleaned purge selenide canister,
replaced distributor cap and rotor,
replaced plugs and plug wires,
checked C3 connection to PCM
"wiggle test". Replaced fuel pump
relay, underhood fuse junction block.
I'm at a loss. I can't get a new car
right now but I need my jeep to run
decently untill I can get a new one.
Any ideas or help please and thank
you.

I'm having the same problem, did you ever figure it out? Thinking it might be a cracked head
