Truck not starting

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a new water pump altanatar transmission
gasket and changed the oil and bought a new filter
and I can drive it but can’t reverse in it it dies and
it’s a new battery

so you have no reverse and it doesn't turn over ? were the batt. and alt. put in together ? does the starter click ? is power getting to it when you hit the key ?
