And temperature gauge isn't working on my 2014 Chevy Cruze

my 2012 cruze had the same problem. I changed the thermostat/temp unit and the radiator temp sensor (located on the passenger side of the radiator) and the problem disappeared. I had been getting a message previously regarding the a/c being turned off. That message also disappeared. The radiator temp sensor is very important and works together with the thermostat sensor to maintain the proper temp. Change both sensors! The radiator sensor was only $13.00 from O'Riley's.

I have the same thing happen and replaced both sensors but still getting the message that my AC is off and engine is hot. It shows it’s on cool. Trying to figure out what else may be wrong

Might have a leak on your oil cooler bypass pipe which connects to the water outlet. Low coolant can cause these abnormal readings. That’s what happened to mine at least. Gm released a new bypass Pipe that supercedes the factory installed one.

Also if your gauge isn’t reading proper try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and plug it back in. Sometimes these sensors can be all wacked out and just need a reset.
