Im in the same boat. You have to know the emissions type (federal, California, Canada). And the 8th digit of the vin and your build date (build date is on the sticker located on your door jam of the driver door. Top left corner od the sticker.) Mine says 04/10 (April 2010). My digit is 3. I called a LKQ engine supplier and theyvtold me my emissions is California. Sonwhen I look for a motor i need a “Build Date “From” 09/09, 2.4L. California Emissions SULEV”. Im not sure if I need a motor. I have a tapping sound coming from the timing chain cover and top of the valve cover. It only taps when its warmed up and under a load over 1500 rpm. So it can be a valve, timing tension failure or spun bearing (rod or cam). Not sure get. Good luck with yours.

I took 2.4 out tranny and all with only taking everything in the front out and was fairly easy on a 2010 forte.
