2011 Hyundai Elantra won't start and I
hear grinding sounds.  Plenty of oil,
battery is fine, no puddles underneath.

First, let's confirm whether the grinding is coming from the flywheel or not. Easiest way is to remove any belts (not timing) and hit the key to see if it's still grinding. If so I would look further into f_o_r's answer. If not, then it's from something the belt drives.
