My car starts, revs, makes a sound when gas pedal is pressed but doesn’t actually drive.

Toyota Camry 2011
I was driving on hwy 85 slowly picking up speed and out
of no where it made a horrible sound. I looked down to
see RPM jump between 6-7 and then my MPH just started
going down that I just had enough time to pull over on the
shoulder.  The car starts, revs and makes noise when
pressing the gas pedal but doesn’t actually drive and no
movement on the MPH. So far I had a few people check it
out but no one has found the problem. Any ideas?
