Check engine light malfunctioning

Check engine light keeps coming on, YET what
light is supposed to indicate is wrong, has been
verified as fixed by 3 different mechanics. Last
year, the regional state manager for state
inspections came to mechanic's garage to
OVERRIDE the check engine light, and so have my
car pass inspection (fee: an additionsl $75).... in
Texas, Galveston County, you cannot get your
annual "license plate" (windshield) sticker until the
"pasesd  inspection" is in the state's database. Any
related information appreciated.

it's call screw the little guy , a check engine light has absolutely nothing to do with safety , some cars won't even run if there is a trouble code and older cars will just run poorly , all this amounts to ZIP in pollution , some codes don't even have anything to do with performance , these kinds of laws come from politicians that promise all kinds of good things but when they get in office they create more problems in your life , but it's a good system , the best money can buy .
