Noise in rear of car

Occasional sound similar to an electric motor.Radio,ac heater off. Rear wiper
works fine.could it be fuel pump .no drop off in performance.Could a speaker
be shorting out?

does it have self adjusting air ride shocks ? It might be the compressor . If it is and it's running often like mine was it may cause the shocks to seize up , like mine did . I pulled fuse on the system but it was too late I had to replace them with a coil over conversion shock .

Will have to check and see but pretty sure I do not have any kind of air ride shocks.but now that you have mentioned it the sound is somewhat like a small compressor
