1973 Volswagen Super Beetle value?

Asked by Mar 02, 2016 at 06:56 PM about the 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I have a 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle that was owned by my mother in law. It has been sitting in her garage for about twelve years. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, but has not been started in that amount of time. She has passed away and my wife and I are unsure on whether to renovate it or sell it as is. We live in Spokane, Washington. Do you have an idea of its worth? It was in perfect condition when she stopped driving and has 43,400 original miles on it. It is pink. We have the original build sheet and all repair documents.

A fully restored '73 VW super coupe is worth around $14K. Selling as is? hard to say without pics. Since it has't been started in over 12 years, and not running, hard to say what someone will pay.

14K???? Not in Cali! Last year made that is worth, even close to that is the 69/70. Fully restored 71 and later are ASKING FOR around 5000 tops. Usually in the 4K range.

I want to know what they are worth. I can't get an answer. Original owner of a 1973 Super Beetle. clean, red, sunroof, interior redone. Powered coated bumpers, exteriors include bras. Tow bar for R.V.'s It needs new tires and engine tune up. But this bug has has been in garage and under wraps. Looking for an offer.

Guru. Like Tom and I mentioned, his area are going for much more than Cali. Depending on your area, the demand, miles, condition etc. I, personally have a (used to be) great running, complete and totally original 74 super with sunroof. Needed front seats reupholstered, had cracked dash and needed minor mechanical work.... not too much needed. I paid 800. Essentially I paid the money for the engine. The rest of it I'm selling as a parts car. However. my 1 owner, totally original and complete 67.... When I get done with that resto (back to vin) it'll be 5 figures.
