THE  MALE AND FEMALE  CONNECTING  the hose to the MAIN FUEL LINE
TO THE MOTOR  . Is this fitting necessary  or can you use a straight rubber
hose with clips

According to the book that is high pressure hose, so no you can’t put just regular multi-fuel hose on it. This old you may need to find a hydraulic shop that will construct you fuel hose setup.
