99 does ranger cuts out

My 99 ranger runs rough for a couple
of minutes when I start it then it runs
fine then after driving just a few
minutes it cuts out and I have to let
off the accelerator and it will pick up
again but when I give it has again it
cuts out. After it sets for a few hours
the process will repeat

problems at higher rpms, check for blockage of some kind, the first two things I think of are fuel and exhaust. good luck
