engine transfer

I have a 91 subaru loyale with a broken transmission. i found an 87 gl 4x4 station wagon that has the carburated engine that has an overheating issue. is it possible to switch engines from my 92 sedan efi to the 87 wagon that had a carburated engine

I am in the middle of doing a switch like this. I have a 91 Loyale and an 86 GL. I took the motor and fuel injection from the 91 and put it in the 86. What you would have to do is take the entire wiring harness out of the 1991 and swap it into the 87. then you have to move the fuel tank and fuel pump over as well. This is a major undertaking and it has taken me all fall to figure it all out but it is close to being on the road. good luck!
