Transmission interchange

I have a 2002 v6 auto just put a 2001 trans in it and having exact same problem, I was just told it's wrong transmission no figure. Said 2002 to 2004 same, emissions and speed sencor control is different so that's what's making speedo read crazy and rev limit also stays in drive unless i pull it down an shift. What a mess this has turn into bud. May be able to switch computer from the 04 but will either have to send it to dealer to have anti theft reset so it programs cluster,speed sencor, and key to your car hope you have more luck then me. If you can help me in anyway be much appreciated as well thanks

Anyone ever figure out how to fix the speedo and rev limiter on the mustang trans swap I have same issue put a 04 trans in a 00 everything went great till the test drive speedo goes crazy and don’t wanna shift right

Did ya get yours fixed? I'm having the same issue I put a 04 trans in my 99 an I can't get it to go over 20mph

I just swapped an 02 trans out for an 04 and im having the same issue, anyone get this fixed???

I have the same problem the only thing I did was unplug the speed sensor in the transmission and it runs and drive great and shifts a little funny. The transmission shop told me it’s amazing that it’s shifting gears with out the speed sensor plugged in. So I’ve kept on changing the speed sensor and it dose the same thing like y’all say it won’t go over 20. So I just kept it unplugged until I can take it to the ford dealership and let them handle it. I’ve also been told that the computer needs to be reprogrammed but I’m not sure honestly. If y’all have any suggestions to help me out I would really appreciate it.
