when should I check oil level

Every couple of weeks is good if there are no leaks or signs of consumption ie; smoking.

It's not hard- check it when ever you feel like it- if it is leaking, check it as often as the size of the leak dictates-

best to check it when the engine is cool and the vehicle is parked on level ground.
