Truck won't start
I have a 98 dodge Durango it has a new battery in it
I've had the ulternter changed n it will jump start
but when u take the cables off it dies n when u turn
the key nothing happens
First of all never remove a battery cable with the engine running, this can cause a voltage spike that can and does fry electronics in your vehicle. This sounds like a main power loss, so check for blown fuses, main fuses and fuselinks. Also does the alternator light come on when you just turn the key on, if it doesn't then that must be repaired as it is part of the alternators activation system. HTH
Tennis, I read this as when he takes the jumper cables off. Not the battery cables.
Grounding issue on alternator from my experience
