Truck won't start

Asked by Black1234 Jan 10, 2019 at 11:54 PM about the 1998 Dodge Durango 4WD

Question type: General

I go to stat my truck and it won't start.
Everything turns on but it won't start.. I then
started to move the gears around and put it
back into park then it started. It has now
made a habit of doing this everyday.
Sometimes I takes me 10 miss to get it to
start. It's frustrating because no one has any
clue why I have to keep doing this????

Sounds like the Starter neutral / inhibitor switch is faulty. This sometimes happens on Auto Transmissions.

That's what the dude at O'Riley's said was that there's a switch on the transmission he said it's either bad or needs a new one. Ok here another problem my blinkers and break lights don't work all the time my heater recently quit working and on my dash my thermastate is now not moving I know the truck not getting hot... Could I be looking at a major electrical problem?

So I went out to start it today and no matter what it won't start I can hear the water pump kick on I have all the light radio turn on no problem but it won't start??? I tried almost an hour I knew yesterday would be the last day I was able to get it to start because if I turned it off I had to keep running back and forth with each gear until it would start it never starts in any gear but park but I had to go back and forth now it won't start at all??
